The first Chocolate Fish Competition of the years is being held at Kapiti JC on Sunday, 31 July.
Who: Judoka aged 6-13 years. White Belt up to and including Orange Belt.
Where: Kapiti Judo Club, 2 Ruapehu Street, Paraparaumu.
When: 10am – 12noon.
How (much): Free.
What: Judoka will be divided up into several divisions to ensure a good match of size, grade and age between competitors. Bouts are fought under modified rules to given everyone maximum mat time.
Why: Unlike higher level competitions where a newcomer might only get one or two fights and spend most of the day sitting around, Chocolate Fish competitions are over in 2 hours and guarantee considerably more mat time for judoka than the traditional competition format.
