The Masterton Chocolate Fish competition, held on Sunday 23 August drew 29 competitors from 5 clubs in the Wellington Area.

Aside from Masterton JJA were kids from Kapiti, Upper Hutt, Koizumi Kwai and 12 competitors from Wellington JJA.

Parents and families were crammed in at the far end of the dojo like sardines. The participants did not disappoint.

The spirit and sportsmanship shown by all competitors was most impressive.

First competitors were fought in groups of roughly the same height. After this randomly assigned teams were selected and several team fights were held.

Of our Academy team, James and Tara Stockwell Williams, Aurie Tzeng and Cameron Sparks were newcomers to competiton, all three showed great fighting spirit.

Siam Hartley pulled off possibly the most impressive throw of the day with her nuclear powered seoinage in her first fight.

A few photos can be found on the photos page.

Thanks to Simon and Graham for organizing the competition, Hilary Rosser and Hugo Dewar for refereeing and Doug Lloyd for organising the fighters.
